I also just registered to say that you s*ck! Had soundblaster-cards since my 486-days. I never got the audigy 2 I still own today to work on Vista. Beginning of last year I spent many hours per day for a full week to get your (back then still beta-drivers) to work on Vista, but without success. Last Christmas I had again time for working on this issue and invested again several days on getting your stuff working (downloading every driver I could find and testing it). Unfortunately without success. I wasn't even able to play a simple mp3-file without any strange "clicking" noise. Then I decided to remove the card from my system and use my onboard sound which outputs everything via an optical digital cable to my sound system and it works perfectly. Furthermore I noticed that your EAX-stuff is by far overrated. I don't really miss it, but can in turn enjoy working drivers. I mean, who would benefit from a feature if the driver implementing it is crappy (and you have to pay for it, to get it somehow working on Vista!).

i think creative should change their disclaimer at the bottom of the site it should read Please check with your local representatives or offices for product availability. Pricing, product specifications and availibility are subject to change without notice. Package contents may vary according to the different regions. Please note that Vista driver support, and all feature functionality may be limited and/or non-existent. You may have to throw out your perfectly good hardware choice due to no fault of your own. I havent used a creative product in years, and won't due to this - However I also refuse to install vista - vista was blown off my pc the day i got it.

By the way: I think someone will be fired for this HUGE marketing mess Candidates are: Phil O'Shaughnessy, Dale_CL, their marketing&sales president. Any one else I forgot? I would vote for their marketing&sales president as well as Phil O'Shaughnessy. Dale_CL should be safe, as he was only the "messenger" and everyone knows that you don't shoot the messenger Message Edited by Jakuleg on 03-30-2008 08:33 AM

This really pisses me off, I've used Creative Labs products since the 386 days with my SoundBlaster ISA card with the volume control on the back and Dr Sbaitso for dos. I don't even run the oh-so-crappy vista os, but ignoring your customers like this and ignoring the progression of technology is a BIG mistake. Never going to buy a creative product again. What next? Persuing the Linux Kernel developers for releasing reverse engineered sound blaster drivers because you jackasses are too stuck up to release open source drivers?
Sales and profit does not equal happy customers. Dale-CL... die in a fire.

I can't belive this has gone this far 1st - Creative needs to change their disclaimer it should read Please check with your local representatives or offices for product availability. Pricing, product specifications and availibility are subject to change without notice. Package contents may vary according to the different regions. Please note that Vista driver support, and all feature functionality may be limited and/or non-existent. You may have to throw out your perfectly good hardware choice due to no fault of your own. 2nd - The posts are liable to get his whole thread shut down/deleted. Yes I'd vent too, but the language isn't gonna help this issue. Make sure this info is out prominately on other sites, since i bet it won't be long before this whole thread goes missing. 3rd - I won't buy a creative product either 4th - Get rid of vista - that seems to solve the problem - I deleted vista from my two machines the day i got them. Xp is much better.

If you look at my profile, you'll see that creative forum mods removed a few of my previous posts, none of which broke any sort of TOS. Trashed

Well, thanks to Slashdot, I now know that Microsoft...er, I mean, Creative intentionally cripples their drivers. Because of this, I will most definitely be looking into sound cards from other, less rigid manufacturers. Daniel_K should have posted instructions on how to do mod or a diff. Or would Creative also have lambasted him for doing that? Message Edited by skeftomai on 03-30-2008 08:44 AM
