Yes, and I will be updating my saved version often. If they delete this thread, I'll have it mirrored right quick.
Also, I'm glad I don't own any Creative stock. Corporate greed FTL.

@yeahok - not exactly, because Creative are in a very rapidly declining finanicial situation that conincides with their pathetic driver support. This is absolutely a hammer blow to them as they cannot afford to loose anymore of the market - day to day users do not buy Audigys or X-Fi's - they use onboard or low end dedicated cards. Gamers, hobbyists and professionals buy high end dedicated cards - but are a small percentage of users overall and are exactly the sort of people who keep up with these issues.

At the moment the only reason they made a net profit last year was because of the Apple settlement, and in 2006 they had a massive loss - about 100 million I think.

So it's naive to think this means nothing to Creative - it means everything, and I fully expect to see an apology to Daniel_K as well as a sanctioning of his work. They are not in a position to do otherwise.

i have a x-fi card and witch i paid a lot of money for, and what did i get for it? hours of frustration with drivers and lose promises!! And now u taking a crap down my throat buy threatening the one guy that helps us with problem your company should have solved long time ago?

i have paid creative to deliver a working card, and the responsible people over at creative haven't delivered that... in my book that's when u get fired and replaced by someone that's know how to do the job!

I WILL NEVER EVER NEVER BUY YOUR PRODUCT AGAIN !

A question to Creative : Ever since I started building, I knew about creatives troubles with reliable drivers. At the time, it was the only alternative going Creative. Not so anymore. The competition is alive and well, and? Creative still is having trouble with reliable drivers. I wont mention said competition, as we all know who they are. WE, your customers. This isnt JOE BLOW you sell to. Its NOT like your INTEL, and have this insurmountable lead in marketing or , product , anymore. Ignore these customers at your peril, as, getting a sound card is a personal choice, much more so than going OEM and finding said INTEL processor in your rig. WE, the customer decide what sound card we want. WE, the customer recommend to many others what to buy, not your advertising, not your OEM placement, but WE, your former customers. Next time I buy a motherboard and they just cant get it together with a bios update, guess what happens? Your going the way of ABIT, hope you sell lots of speakers

Greetings from South Africa...

This topic realy is spreading like wildfire.

I had to register here to simply say that irresepctive of what Creative have said to Mr. Daniel-K and the response to that now very famous post , Creative are still selling product and are in business..

I am personally running or using Creative products but have now switched to another brand. Not because of this emotionally filled thread, but simply as I had changed my MOBO .

What this has highlighted for me and many others on South African forums is that there is / was a problem long ago.Its now simply something to look out for..No biggie i.m.o.

Well done Daniel-K for the early years I say..

Ill keep track of this though..

I presume there are no more Vista driver problems with Creative products ?

Count another dealer lost, Creative. Honestly, I could deal with the bloatware, oversized drivers, lack of compatibility and the flurry of lawsuits you directed at everyone from Game Developers to PC Makers over the years, but when you're so wrapped up in crippling current hardware just to sell "the next big thing" that you're threatening a freeware driver developer? Well, that's it for me.

Unfortunately, I can't get rid of my X-Fi right now, though I will be downloading Daniel's drivers for it tomorrow morning; from what I've read, his x64 Vista support is outstanding. However, I will be shelving my Vision: W I purchased at CES 2007 in favor of a new Microsoft Zune (Which is supported with new firmware versions, instead of a useless 'update firmware' option on my Zen that was never ever used). I'll also be boycotting and blacklisting the following companies and brands from my Home Theatre Services until I see a series of positive changes by Creative:

  • Cambridge Soundworks
  • Creative Labs
  • FATAL1TY related gear from all manufacturers
  • Sensaura
  • Creative ZEN
  • Creative MuVo
  • Etc.
This is absolutely disgusting, Creative; it's blatantly apparent that the company's survival strategy is patenting everything even remotely related to sound, then suing everyone else for money. This is an unacceptable business practice in my eyes, and you have fully lost my support. Lucky for me, there's several other options out there for High quality sound cards, and with more games turning to new DirectAudio support in DX10/Vista, it's only a matter of time until the traditional Sound Blaster cards die completely.

Good bye creative, great move, you've just proved how smart your decision makers are to the whole world.

I certainly doubt I'll be buying/promoting any new products from you.
