I to would like to say i am not a Ex-user of your products, i build between 100-200 pc's a year and include creative products in my those pc's, will not be doing so any more. maybe its time for a open source aproche to sound hardware, like a few of the open mobile platforms in the works. i am sure there is enought tallent in the community to work on our own sound hardware/ drivers, a good chance at the moment for a small company working "WITH" the community instead of aganst it , to make some headway. anyways Goodbye Creative u fools.
I can agree that open source drivers would be a great idea to get out of Creatives retarded powertrip over their trashy drivers, though a custom sound chip in my opinion would be too problematic. it might work with something like burning a FPGA but there's still the issue of printing a PCI PCB and the circutry required to support it.

Forget you Creative, One loyal fan (Dan K) of your company fixed your "IP" so that your customers could actually USE what they bought from you. "Intellectual Property" wouldsuggest intellect! What your other customers got was "UP". Unintelectual Property. Dan K fixed your "UP" and turned it into "IP" IF anything Dan K should be suing you for a large chunk of the monetary value of all sales of said sound cards due to crappy drivers and his fixing saved your company's donkey and he should so be entitled to a large amount of those funds. You could of said: "Hey, thanks Dan K!" But you and RIAA and other common internet jack off artists said: **bleep** that this guy (saved/made) us a ton of money. Lets threaten to file a law suit! Scare the living **bleep** out of all these HAXORZ!!!! News flash: RIAA's law suits have backfired. Yours will too if you dared pursue such an endeavor and simply using a threat of a law suit will leave a bad taste in the internet community's mouth for a long time to come. Now if you have enough money to survive for 5 years without sales, maybe the teens who are too young to care about what is being said here today might come and buy your stuff and hopefully this will be a lesson learned. If not I only have two words for Creative: EPIC FAIL Good luck and by the way you won't receive a dime from me ever period, Seriously dig a hole and die, Buddylee

Quote from styckx at FARK.com: ''This story is spreading like wildfire.
Digg, Slashdot, Fark, Wired, Gizmodo, theinquirer just to name a few. People are seeding the drivers, posting it on their own forums. Hilarious. Epic Failure of Epic awesome proportions.'' The whole thing is out of control, it's hilarious. ZERO damage control from Creative so far. A couple of heads are going to roll, that's for sure! Someone should archive this whole thread for posterity, creative can't possibly tolerate this much longer and will close it soon.

Got here through Digg, noticed that this is a pretty hot subject in pretty much every big social news site on the internet right now. You screwed up, Creative. This thread and its contents are proof that you have screwed up. You have essentially spit in the face of all of your customers who have been loyal up to this point. Did you know Microsoft is in hot water over its "Vista ready" blunder? You guys are barking up the same tree promoting your products to support Vista, then give us shoddy drivers that don't enable half the functionality you advertise on the box. At least through Daniel_K's driver patches, we felt less inclined to cause a scene. I will never again buy a Creative product.

Well, now they've gone and done it. Thanks to your VP (who should be fired), you've lost yet another long-term customer (and his entire circle of family/friends). I will NEVER buy another Creative product again. Here's a Google search string to find some alternatives: sound cards -creative -"sound blaster" Goodbye, Creative.

Remember folks, it's still faintly possible that Creative may listen. Obviously a LOT of people are angry after having purchased Creative products and suffered from the terrible software support over the years. Please check out the petition demanding a change. http://www.petitiononline.com/crtvlabs/petition.html

Owned a few Creative Labs products in my time. However, After reading this, I can't say that I'll be recommending them to my friends or family anymore. I knew things were getting bad, however, I haven't realized how bad the support has been. It's been a while since I've last bought anything from Creative. My money certainly isn't going to them anymore, that's for sure. Thanks Creative. For a job not well done.
