I am also a long time Creative customer. I owned an AWE32, Audigy ZS 2 Platinum, the Gigiworks S750 set, and now a creative X-fi Pro but I regret to say I will never purchase another creative product again. Over the years I had become more and more dissarisfied with the customer and software support the company had been providing. This story is the last nail in the coffin. I will be looking elsewhere for my computer audio needs in the future....It is sad that one man did something a company full of people could not do for its customers!

I pray Creative for not hiring Daniel_K and he will reject any offer if the Creative does.... unless he incharge the whole software developing team, if not he will forced to followed the stupid policies of Creative and he will do nothing in that stupid company....just standalone and released even more modded driver, they can't do anything on you...

1- I'm very surprised this thread is not even closed yet.

2- In 15 years of IT consulting, a never saw such a monumental PR fiasco. It's all over the net.

3- The retarded guy that is responsible for this stupid move should be fired at once.

4- They actually thought that by killing links on their site they could prevent the modded driver to be available from torrent sites:smileyvery-happy:

5- The business practice of deliberately crippling driver to force upgrade in customer throat is criminal.

6- Creative has lost the most precious asset in business: Credibility.

7- This company is in a very bad shape overall. I give them another 24 months at most before going under, be sold or dismantled.

8- My contribution to put Creative out of his misery ASAP is to stop buying, selling and recommending their prodcut to my customers.

9- Go to digg dot com and vote to spread the news

NOTE: *********Go to bugmenot dot com to get instant login and password to this forum******* I did.

Just thought I'd add my fuel to the fire. I have been very disappointed with Creative's drivers. It all started when I bought by Audigy only to discover that I had to also buy an AWE32 if I wanted sound in any of my DOS games, then I found that my X-Fi does not work at all under linux. Finally with the realization that all of the issues I have been struggling with over the years were just part of an aggressive marketing strategy, I have decided to refrain from buying any more Creative Labs products until their corporate policy changes to a more user-centric one rather than their current profits-above-all-else one.

To the marketing division:

Take a long hard look at this thread. You've lost over 600 customers already, and that's just the number that is angry enough to register for the sole purpose of expressing that anger. I can't see how you guys can possibly conclude that it was worth it. I have always been impressed with the quality of your hardware, but your software has always left much to be desired. I will not be purchasing another product with the Creative brand until you overhaul your driver writing operation and come to the conclusion that forced obsolescence is never the answer.

Why dont y'all go after M$ as well? They caused all this vista nonsense by releasing that crap os in the 1st place. But you won't. Nothing will happen. Vista is tolerated and so will this be.

M$ made Vista. Creative failed at drivers. Someone fixed drivers. Creative got angry for fixed drivers and happy customers.

Oh the irony.

I have also registered just to post.

Creative, as an employee of a large electronics retail corporation, I will no longer recommend any of your products to customers. I will now show them other alternatvies to all of your products, espicially your sound cards. Though you are the only manufacturer of sound cards in our store, I will no longer screw over my customers with lies and I will finnaly tell them the truth about how horrible and how much of a ripoff your sound cards really are.

I have recently switched to HT Omega for all of my sound card needs and I couldn't be any more satisfied. No longer will I support any more of your products. Because of this, I will be retiring my Creative ZEN: Stone and switching to Samsung for all of my portable music needs.

I'm sorry Creative, like many of the others here, you have lost another customer.
