Here from bmn. Link via inquirer. Old Creative user. will not be spending £300 of my upgrade budget on creative speakers & card. Joining the boycott fully. (although I expect there may be a load of xfi's on ebay for £1.99 soon!) 67000 views of the first post; that's quite a few so far eh. Oh and that really should have been offered first as a private converstation. If you want it public please reply to the stampedes of people who seem to be rather narked off at something you've not provided them. Played Daniel; good luck in the future. GGKTHXBYE

I registered just to post here. My first computer came with a SB card, and my next few. When I built my first computer, I bought a SB Live 5.1. When I built my next one, and most recent one, I bought a X-Fi Platinum. Well my next computer won't use a SB card since your latest offerings don't work on Linux nor are you concerned about the Linux base. My next sound card will not be from Creative. Perhaps a better, cheaper card. Mike Roquemore

Like many others here in this thread I signed up to just make this 1 post. I will never be buying a Creative product again. In the past I have enjoyed your MP3 players and I was considering a performance Sound card for my computer. No longer. And as I hold much influence over other peoples buying decisions when it comes to computer components I will no longer recommend creative equipment. The Customer is always right. You've lost out on hundreds possibly thousands of sales because of this. Good luck Creative, by the looks of this thread your going to need it. I wouldn't normally do this but I signed up just to add my voice here at the epic stupidty of Creative. I always bought creative in my proper builds, as I didn't really find any worthwhile competition - but after this I will make the effort to find an alternative solution. Also, the newer Creative MP3/MP4 players suck so badly - I bought 4 Zen V's (is that what they're called? The small black ones with colored edging) in total, all within 12 months old, and all 4 died - that was the end of that. I pledged never to buy a Creative portable again, and now I'll try add sound cards to that list... Well done to Daniel K by the way, I'm sure a single thanks doesn't mean a whole lot but your work was absolutely brilliant and helped thousands upon thousands of people.

I gotta say Creative, you just re-defined the meaning of the phrase "Shoot yourself in the foot." I build maybe 10 or so PC's a year, mostly for myself and some friends. At my company however there are any number of people who build PC's on a regular basis, mostly freelance work. It's safe to assume none of us will ever use Creative Labs sound cards again. Unless... they issue Daniel_K the apology he so richly deserves. Message Edited by Arcex on 03-29-2008 05:23 PM

i have been pretty fed up with creative lately especially with their DAP lineup but this has added something to my list it really irritates me when Corporations interfere with user contributions its not like they where loseing revenue from the drivers unless they specifically wanted to release a new sound card that would make people buy it because of the incompatibilty i think my next mobos intergrated soundcard sounds pritty good right now [I can see this thread getting ""Deleted"", from all the bad press from it being on many Blogs sites]

tfm_copycat The post is still there, just for some reason the link from my post does not work Here is a QUOTE I checked with management, and it was decided we would bring back the Audigy Support Pack thread and allow you to continue in that endeavor. As long as no intellectual property of Creative is distributed, we will have no problem with it. I will get the thread reposted shortly. Dale
