Creative, your customer support is truly terrible. I have no idea how you can close down good drivers like Daniel_K's, and at the same time, not provide adequate drivers yourselves, for YOUR OWN PRODUCTS.

I hope you pay attention to this large thread of people complaining you might actually learn something about customer support, as yours has been abysmal up to now, what with this little fiasco and the terrible linux drivers you've supplied to the community, only after 2 YEARS of waiting.

Dale-CL and Creative Labs --

You must be OUT OF YOUR MINDS. You left us high and dry with Vista, Daniel_K saved our butts (and saved your butt, I might add)...

And, now you want to cut him off.

Creative Labs, help Daniel... or get out of the way. Otherwise, we'll all simply knock you out of the way.

Here's another loyal customer you lost, the X-fi elite pro is my last creative product!

Keep it up Creative and you'll never have to make drivers again

I can't believe that people are just waking up now to realize what **bleep**e hardware/software creative makes and are prompted by this latest strong arm tactic to stop buying creative product.

I stopped buying creative years ago when they were still using the same windows 3.1, 256 color dithered POS bundled audio software with their windows xp drivers. When I installed their drivers/software it was painfully obvious that they hadn't done anything to much to update their software from the windows 3.1 days. I assume this latest communications blunder is done by the same manage-by-spreadsheet executives that probably laid-off the production/engineering staff to hire more marketers and middle-managers to pump the hype about their "fata1ity" latest line of hardware without actually doing any R&D to make a better product assuming that the clueless middle-America consumer would fail to notice and gobble up the latest gadget and do-dad.

They pull the same thing with their creative web cam software as well, that hasn't been updated since windows 3.1 either. Its hard to believe that this company is still afloat.

I'm both shocked that Creative is doing this. Essentially asking us to pay for drivers in addition to paying for the product. At this rate you might as well send a cease and desist to the ALSA Linux Driver team which allows almost any modern sound card to work on Linux.

I have to say that I've supported you guys since the DOS days, but with the advent of good onboard sound and a plethora of other discrete sound card manufactures I'm going to have to say goodbye as I just cannot support your business practices.

Count me in as yet another unhappy Creative (Linux) user. I wish I could buy your products and use them on my Linux desktop. Shame on you I can't do it. Well, if you don't need my money you won't get it. Kthxbai.

Just another good reason not to switch to vista

That did it for me. Last Creative product purchased was 6 months ago and it still doesn't work properly. If this is the way Creative treats it's customers, then I'm done.

BTW, this forum posting is now on StumbleUpon. I got so pissed reading it that I registered just to show my support.

For many people, Vista is a necessity; Microsoft dictates to the hardware manufacturers what standards to meet, and Creative Labs hasn't done it. That's why you go to the hardware vendor.
