After I saw this article on slashdot, I just HAD to join this forum and leave my comments --

Dear Creative Labs,

Because of what you are doing, I will never buy another creative product again. I will tell all of my friends and family to never purchase creative products,

or computers that come pre-built with creative products. I will tell all the people I work with to do the same.

This is one of the most outrageous things I've ever seen; to release products that claim to work on Vista, but don't

Windows Vista has been out for how long now...? Over a year? Yet you still won't step up to the plate and create drivers that actually work.

And then, to top it off, you have the audacity to threaten someone who does what you will not do.

This leads me to believe, that the Vista drivers for CL products were purposely made to be crippled.

The only conclusion I can come to is that you intentionally screwed over your customers, but for what reason, I do not know.

Without loyal customers, your business will not survive. I can guarantee that.

You know why? So far I've seen this issue on multiple forums and news sites, and most of the time, the comments are very similar to mine. I'm gonna take a stab at this, and estimate that by now, Creative Labs has lost at least 5,000 customers.

5,000 people, who were once loyal, perhaps even fanatics about your company and products, lost..because of your "business decisions."

In closing, just remember that if you feel the same way I do, make sure to tell all of your friends and family, or anyone that is interested in

technology about what Creative Labs has done, and what kind of company that they really are.

Hopefully by next year they will be gone for good and customers will no longer have to put up with this crap of false promises and advertising.

I think it's a wrong PR approach, you could have allowed the guy to work his magic, or even under a (collaboration) contract so he would be paid and impose some conditions so proprietary technology would not exceed product specifications. In fact what you did was to dismiss his work, and say that our guys can do it better though they are not, so old hardware is discontinued, people buy new hardware and expect something far better, but they get new technology, new specifications, with... new problems, noisy and loud rather than quality sound (maybe you guys test these sound cards on 1000W club speakers where it is ok). I regret not buying M-Audio instad of X-Fi, because I bet they care more about quality than advertise. I expected a lot and got dissapointed, so I will not recommend to anyone to buy this porduct until i know it functions as it should and that is up to you and your atitde says it all.

Hi from India

Just registered to say good bye

Heck, even registering was a hassle.

Anyways, I still have a EP-630 which I will be junking in few weeks.

Any more keystrokes will be wasting time, energy and bunch of electrons. Have wasted enough for above and also lot of hard earned cash.

Don't expect any response from the staff to any of your criticism, they are clearly too arrogant to address any of it. They have already backpedaled over the Audigy support pack, and are starting to make themselves look like clueless imbociles. The fact this is front page news on so many big sites will only deepen their shame.

Wow, nice going Creative. I scoffed an ID just to add my words to this.

Been "computing" since before there were ever sound cards and my first one was a Creative. Well, never again, nor will I recommend it.

Take a look at the last reply, over 1100 views already. I've heard that 1 disgruntled "customer" is worth 10 customers. Yeah, so take a guess. 11000 lost customers at least.... and counting. And like we're ever going to recommend any other Creative product after this?

Who hired that VP? They should be fired too...

Well as this seems to be spreading like wildfire on internet, I felt the need to post and confirm that I wont buy creative products anymore.

I just registered to say I will no longer support anything Creative has to sell. I have a piece of crap from Creative stuck in my computer now and it's never worked for a second. Also, this thread is now on the front page of Reddit and the link has made it to thousands of message boards all over the world. If Creative wants to save their sinking Titanic, they had better do something fast about this mess. Think, people. If not, it's all over. A response would be nice.

I'm also registering just to post that I am not buying a creative product ever again.

This is just plain stupid. I don't know who in management decided this was the best course of action but they should be fired.

You've really betrayed your customers.

As posted by Shane2 ^^^

That is fair enough Shane2 this thread will continue to grow and be read by the thousands who will now see it from Reddit, Digg etc

The longer they go without comment, the worse it gets.

Today Creative learns an invaluable lesson.
